Approved in Russia Nootropics & cognitive
- Full name
- Semax (a synthetic ACTH(4-10) analog)
- Also known as
- Semax, N-Acetyl Semax Amidate
- Regulatory status
- Approved prescription drug in Russia (for ischemic stroke, optic nerve atrophy, and ADHD-type attention difficulties). Not approved in the US, EU, or most other countries; used there as a research chemical/off-label nasal spray.
- Variant note
- Sometimes sold as 'NA-Semax amidate' (N-acetyl, amidated form) rather than the original Semax sequence. The amidate modification is intended to improve stability, and community reports treat it as roughly interchangeable in effect, but it has not been independently studied to the same extent as the parent compound.
