Peptide stack

Semax + Selank

Russian nootropic paired with a Russian anxiolytic.

Components studied separately, not the combination

Reviewed 2026-09-12
Not a recommendation. This page explains why a combination is discussed together in research or community circles — it is not an endorsement of stacking these compounds. See each component's own page for full detail, dosing and safety notes.

COMPONENTS in this stack

Why these are combined

Semax works through BDNF and neurotrophic signaling; Selank is anxiolytic and anti-inflammatory via cytokine modulation and amygdala effects. An fMRI study dosed both in humans and found distinct but complementary connectivity changes. Both have a longer clinical-use history in Russia than most peptides on this wiki.

Mechanism & pharmacokinetics

Both are fast-degrading peptide fragments (typical reported half-lives run from minutes to roughly half an hour, largely due to peptidase breakdown, especially with intranasal dosing), so neither is expected to linger long enough to meaningfully alter the other's clearance. Mechanistically they don't overlap either: Semax works through BDNF and neurotrophic signaling, Selank through GABAergic and cytokine-modulating pathways affecting the amygdala. The one human data point available — an fMRI study that dosed both together — found distinct, non-overlapping activation patterns for each, which is at least consistent with (though not proof of) the idea that they're not interfering with each other's mechanism.

Typical community protocol

Semax intranasal, 100-500 mcg daily (often split into two doses); Selank intranasal, 250-500 mcg daily. Commonly cycled 2-4 weeks on, 1-2 weeks off.

Safety notes

Safety: Neither has Western regulatory approval or safety data outside Russian literature. What combined effects on neuroinflammation and dopamine signaling look like isn't known.
Community notes (anecdotal — not clinical evidence)

Picked up by Western nootropic communities through translated Russian research. The appeal is focus plus calm in one stack.
