Category primer
These are short synthetic peptides, typically di-, tri- or tetrapeptides, developed mainly by the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology under Vladimir Khavinson. The premise: peptide sequences can selectively regulate gene expression in specific tissues. They're approved for medical use in Russia and marketed internationally for research and longevity use. The evidence standard here differs a lot from the rest of the site: most studies are Russian-language, concentrated in a small number of institutions, and haven't been independently replicated in Western peer-reviewed literature. Read every page here with that in mind. The claims rest on a narrower, more geographically concentrated evidence base than the rest of the wiki.
