Testosterone enanthate

Long-acting testosterone ester with a half-life close to cypionate. Largely interchangeable for scheduling.

Evidence category: Regulator / guideline. This describes the source category, not approval or certainty.

Regulatory statement in source: FDA-approved.

Testosterone enanthate injection is approved by the US FDA as testosterone replacement therapy in adult males with conditions linked to low or absent natural testosterone. The label states that safety and effectiveness were not established in men with age-related hypogonadism or in males under 18. In July 2025 the label removed its boxed warning about blood pressure increases and its cardiovascular-risk warning, while still warning that testosterone can raise blood pressure. An FDA presentation on testosterone replacement describes the same class indication. The evidence here is regulator-approved product labelling, not a new trial.

Benefits reported in the imported source

  • Testosterone replacement in adult males with low or absent natural testosterone.

Risks and limits

  • Safety and effectiveness were not established in age-related low testosterone or in males under 18.
  • The label still warns that testosterone can raise blood pressure.
  • In July 2025 the boxed blood-pressure warning and the cardiovascular-risk warning were removed.

Source bottom line: Testosterone enanthate is FDA-approved replacement for men with low testosterone, but not proven for age-related decline.
